Community support & compassionate care
At times of loss, hardship or need, our wardens provide a calm, caring and respectful presence. We support families and communities at compassionate services such as tangihanga and memorials, offering practical help, cultural support and a comforting hand.
- Welfare and pastoral support at compassionate services
- Practical assistance for families in times of loss
- Culturally respectful care for Māori, Pasifika and First Nations communities
- A trusted, familiar point of contact for those in need
Outcome: Families feel supported and respected during difficult times, and communities are helped to grieve, gather and heal together.
Building Relationships Workshops
Our workshops bring people together to grow cultural understanding, leadership and cooperation. We create safe spaces where community members, organisations and young people can learn from one another and build the relationships that strengthen our neighbourhoods.
- Cultural awareness and understanding sessions
- Leadership and community-development training
- Relationship-building between diverse community groups
- Support for youth engagement and mentoring
Outcome: Stronger, more connected communities with improved cultural understanding and new local leaders ready to serve.
Event engagement & traffic support
Trained wardens are a reassuring presence at community gatherings, festivals and sporting events. We assist with crowd safety, traffic direction, parking and general community engagement — helping events run smoothly so everyone can enjoy them safely.
- Crowd safety and community engagement at events
- Traffic direction and parking assistance
- Support for event organisers and community groups
- Friendly information and wayfinding for attendees
Outcome: Safer, well-supported community events where organisers are backed by reliable volunteers and attendees feel welcome.
